New day, new rumor, today the leaker @kopite7kimi talks to us on Twitter about the technical specifications of the Full AD104 GPU. Specifically, this is the GPU of the RTX 4070, but fully unlocked. If we see what happened with the RTX 3000, it is quite possible to imagine that it will be a NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti. As a reminder, on the RTX 4070 we would have 7,168 CUDA cores with 10 GB of memory on a 160-bit bus. With the RTX 4070 Ti, we would spend on 7,680 CUDA cores with 12 GB of memory on a 192-bit bus. Memory bandwidth therefore increases by around 40% from 360 GB/s on the RTX 4070 to 504 GB/s on the Ti.
The NVIDIA RTX 4070 at the level of the 3090 and the RTX 4070 Ti at the level of the RTX 3090 Ti?
Technically, with such specifications on the Ada Lovelace architecture, the level of performance should approach the RTX 3090 Ti. As for the RTX 4070, the performance should be similar to the RTX 3090. At least in a benchmark like 3DMark Time Spy.
As I have mentioned before, there is an AD104 SKU with a 400W limit.
PG141-SKU331
a full-fat AD104 with 7680FP32
21Gbps 12G GDDR6X
It can easily match RTX 3090 Ti.— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) August 1, 2022
On the other hand, this full AD104 GPU of NVIDIA will of course consume more energy than the non-full version. In theory, the power consumption of the PG141/SKU331 card would reach 400 W, which is 100 W more than that of the RTX 4070 which is at 300 W. With this reference, we therefore have a total of 7 cards of which it has already been question via leaks that can be considered reliable. To find your way around, here is a small table from our VideoCardz colleagues.
