Game News Dark Passenger: ex-developers of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 unveil a multiplayer game
Since the misadventures of CD Projekt RED, many developers have decided to strike out on their own. This is particularly the case with Dark Passenger, a brand new studio that has a lot of ideas.
New start for creators of CD Projekt RED
After having done their hands on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or even Cyberpunk 2077, former employees of CD Projekt RED have decided to come together to form a brand new studio. Entitled Dark Passenger, this company based in Warsaw, Poland, has already started the development of its first production.
Like Ghost of Tsushima, this new proposal – which does not even have a title – offers players the opportunity to evolve in a feudal Japan made under Unreal Engine 5, the latest engine update from Epic Games, for meet warriors of all kinds. Nevertheless, unlike the work of Sucker Punch which is above all an adventure dedicated to solitary players, the project of Dark Passenger is, for its part, a multiplayer creation which will include “player versus player” modes, but also team games.
Video game production effectively emphasizes cooperation within the same team and even offers a unique “locomotion system”. Although strange, we understand that it will be possible, for example, to run on arrows fired by allies, to jump over walls using a yari, a Japanese spear, or even to climb many surfaces using shuko claws.
Extensive customization and several approaches to the program
In order to constantly renew the parts, this project signed Dark Passenger is based on very distinct elements. First, it offers extensive hero customization for players to craft unique characters. It will even be possible to customize weapons and armor. But the most important thing is that each playthrough will require players to revise their approaches through advanced procedural solutions.
In order to make each game unique and surprising, we use advanced procedural solutions. While the objective will be the same for all players, reaching it will require different approaches, tactics and routes taken each time. Dark Passenger
As of now, the creation of Dark Passenger does not yet have a release window, however, we know that the developers are aiming for a simultaneous release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
