While the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will probably not arrive here, Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, has already promised that the next generation of Ultra smartphone will be available outside of China.
Xiaomi lifted the veil a few weeks ago on its new flagship smartphones of 2022, the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra. Designed in partnership with the German Leica photo specialist, smartphones have already managed to wow users, but not everyone has been able to take advantage of them. Indeed, Xiaomi quickly confirmed that its new series will not be available in France, even though it had marketed the Xiaomi 12X, 12 and 12 Pro a little earlier in the year.
However, French Xiaomi fans will be happy to hear that Xiaomi has much different plans for the next generation. Indeed, on his personal Weibo account, Lei Jun has already announced that the next Ultra version of its smartphones will be launched outside of Chinaand will therefore succeed the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra of 2021. “ This generation of Ultra is only sold in China, the next generation will definitely be sold worldwide », announces the CEO.
The release of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra with us is no longer completely excluded
Although Xiaomi has already announced on many occasions that the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will not leave China, several Internet users were surprised to find that the smartphone had been referenced on the global version of the official website from the manufacturer. However, usuallyonly devices that are actually launched with us appear on this site. It seems difficult to imagine that this is a mistake, since a page in English takes a long time to write and arrange. Anyway, those who are waiting for a new Ultra model here will be able to take advantage of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra from 2023.
For now, we don’t know much about the next Xiaomi 13 Ultra of 2023, but some leakers such as Ice Universe have already revealed what we can expect. Without surprise, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s next super-powerful chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
More than just a new iteration of the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 produced by Samsung, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would be signed TSMC. The new chip will therefore benefit from a more advanced burning process, which the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 recently took advantage of. The latter makes it possible to obtain a chip that is much more energy efficient, but above all less prone to overheatingthe main fear of smartphones released at the beginning of the year.
We also know that 2023 could be the year when we say goodbye to chins on high-end smartphones. According to Ice Universe, the Xiaomi 13 series should finally adopt a new front design with a screen with symmetrical edges. On the photo side, we imagine that the smartphone will reuse Sony’s giant 1-inch 50 MP IMX989 sensor, and that it will always take advantage of Leica’s modes. In China, the smartphone could arrive at the end of 2022 or at the beginning of 2023, but it should not be expected in France before at least the second quarter of 2023.
