Linda Evangelista signs her first ad since the operation that disfigured her

FASHION – Linda Evangelista is back. The catwalk star, who revealed in September 2021 to have been disfigured following a failed surgery, shared a photo from the new Fendi campaign featuring her, this Saturday July 16, on her Instagram account.

We see her pose again, with three caps on her head, a pair of big sunglasses on her nose, and two bags in her hand.

“On September 9, 2022, Fendi will organize a very special fashion show in New York to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fendi Baguette, a bag designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, and the two years since Kim Jones joined the house as director artistic”, announces Linda Evangelista as a caption.

This is the first time that the former supermodel has appeared in front of the lens for many years. In September 2021, she told her million Instagram followers that she had been “irreparably disfigured” by a cosmetic treatment that went wrong six years ago.

Supposed to be slimming, the “CoolSculpting” treatment from the company Zeltiq had the opposite effect of multiplying her fat cells, thus modifying her face and thus preventing her from pursuing her modeling career.

While the Canadian was one of the highest paid models in the world, alongside stars like Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, she has in the past explained that she has received “no income from modeling since 2016” and has had to give up commitments requiring her to appear in public, such as the Versace fashion show held in September 2017 in the presence of former supermodels like Carla Bruni. This is why she demanded 50 million dollars in compensation.

“I can’t live in this pain anymore”

On Instagram, this Wednesday, July 20, she says she is relieved to have drawn a line under this case. “I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life with my family and friends, and to put this behind me. I am very grateful for the support I have received,” she wrote.

Determined to return to the front of the stage, Linda Evangelista assured, last February in an interview for the magazine Peopleno longer being able to “live like that, in hiding and in shame”.

“I can no longer live in this pain. I finally want to speak, she said after being isolated from the outside world for fear of showing her face and body. I hope I can get rid of some of the shame and help other people who are in the same situation as me.”
